Tadas Zaicikas (artist name TedyZet) was born in Lithuania in 1974. Influenced by neo-expressionism, street art, and graffiti, he has developed a distinctive artistic style that blends vibrant abstraction with narrative-driven imagery. His work features bold colors, exaggerated features, and dynamic brushstrokes, with animals and flowers as recurring subjects. Each piece is an emotional and visual journey, enhanced by the integration of short poems that invite deeper engagement from the viewer.
Zaicikas defines his artistic philosophy as "Narrative Expressionism"—a movement that bridges abstract expressionism with storytelling. His paintings not only capture raw emotion and energy but also provide a poetic, reflective dimension through accompanying text. This seamless interplay between imagery and words creates an immersive experience where meaning unfolds uniquely for each viewer.
In this series, flowers take center stage in his work, embodying both the wild spirit of nature and the delicate vibrancy of life. His flower paintings radiate energy, transforming floral compositions into dynamic explosions of color and movement. Zaicikas’ art is a celebration of life, emotion, and spontaneity.
Working across both traditional and digital media, Zaicikas seamlessly blends techniques to bring his artistic vision to life. His traditional works incorporate oil pastels, acrylic, spray paint, charcoal, ink, and gloss varnish on canvas, creating richly textured surfaces that heighten their expressive impact.
Zaicikas obtained his Master’s degree in 1996 from Kaunas University of Technology (Kaunas, Lithuania). After relocating to Canada in 2014, he became a full-time artist. He currently lives and works between France, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Since 2017, he has been a member of La Maison des Artistes, the Professional Artists of France.
Exhibiting internationally, Zaicikas’ work has been featured in prestigious art fairs, salons, and gallery shows worldwide. Whether on canvas or through digital compositions, he continues to push the boundaries of artistic storytelling, transforming each painting into a multi-layered exploration of color, form, and narrative.
