Nahúm Flores was born in Honduras in 1974. He immigrated to Canada at the age of seventeen. In 2001, Nahúm graduated from the Ontario College of Art & Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in drawing and painting. He has been showing his work since 1996. Presently he lives and works in Toronto.
Exhibiting both nationally and internationally, Nahúm’s work has been showcased in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Croatia, Serbia and the United States. He has received numerous grants including a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2014. Nahúm was the recipient of the Corporate Purchase Award at the 2011 Artist Project in Toronto, and won the same award three years earlier, in 2008. In 2013, Nahúm participated in the Serie Project-Artist Residency in Austin Texas. Since 2008, he has been a Visual Arts Workshop Leader at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto.
