A soft, pinkish-orange hue called Peach Fuzz is Pantone’s colour of the year for 2024. Officially called “Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz,” the colour is gentle, velvety and subtly sensual. This year’s choice “echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless,” noted Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

Created in the 1960s, Pantone is best known for its color-matching system that numbers and organizes hues with a distinct chip format. The company also runs the Pantone Color Institute, which selects the color of the year and conducts color trend forecasting research. Every year, a team of color experts examines art, fashion, design, travel destinations, technologies and more to determine which colors are influencing the world in the current moment.
Peach Fuzz is Pantone’s 25th color of the year. The annual announcements began to “engage the design community and color enthusiasts around the world in a conversation around color.” Where will Peach Fuzz show up this year? Wallpaper, rugs, fabric, make-up… and ART, you bet!
